#3 the monsters are due on maple street

This short film was honestly the weirdest thing I have ever watched. I don't understand why the aliens did that, I mean why don't you just leave everything normal and have them keep thinking that the UFO was just a meteor, and then took over. They could have destroyed the town themselves, the aliens get nothing out of this by what they actually did. "the monsters are due on maple street" does not make sense to me at all, i did not like it.
