In "Rita Haywoth and the shawsank redemption" I learned that red killed his wife and her lover, he is now in shashank with two back to back life sentences. He's the man who can get anything and everything for a price, and as long as it's not a weapon. If you want red's services you forget his name and buisness as soon as you recive your package. Red knows people, and he knows who and ho much it is to get a hit man. Red knows a liar but Andy dufresne was not one. and thats what I learned from the begining of the book
